Heavy Waste – C&D Information

Where a bin is booked as Construction & Demolition (C&D) waste, the load must consist of at least
50% C&D material.

What is considered C&D (inert / recyclable material):

  • Concrete
  • Bricks
  • Tiles
  • Sand, soil and rubble
  • Masonry products / clean fill

What is NOT considered C&D (Non-C&D / Class 2 materials):

  • Plasterboard / gyprock
  • Treated, processed, laminated or painted timber (including MDF / melamine)
  • Plastics, rubber, foam
  • Insulation and composite materials
  • Mixed heavy waste containing any of the above

If the disposal facility determines that non-C&D (Class 2) materials exceed 50% of the total load, the bin will be
reclassified as Heavy Waste (Non-C&D) and a surcharge equal to 100% of the original bin hire price will apply
to cover the increased disposal costs.

Important: Waste classification and material ratios are assessed by the disposal facility and are final.
Any reclassification charges will be passed on to the customer.
